Teacher Training

The training course at J.L. Body Conditioning, Inc. focuses on preparing individuals to teach the J.L. Body Conditioning, Inc Method of Pilates with clarity, sensitivity to individual needs and thorough understanding of body mechanics. Julian teaches a maximum of six trainees at a time, making this course personal and unique. He leads his trainees through an apprenticeship. It consists of an intensive 12-week study (450 hours minimum) and includes Reformer, Ladder Barrel, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Barrel, Slant Board and Arm Chair.

All of the original exercises will be covered as well as modifications and rehabilitative exercises. Training on other equipment not part of the original format will also be included. Trainees learn and practice with J.L. Body Conditioning clients from the beginning of the course, receiving true "hands on" instruction. Trainees may return at any time for refresher courses and Julian and studio personnel are available for advice and instructional support.

Potential trainees are screened and interviewed by Julian before acceptance into this unique course. Basic knowledge of functional anatomy is required before being considered. Recommended readings are Joseph E. Donnelly's Living Anatomy and Blandine Calais-Germain's Anatomy of Movement.
